Peanut Butter from the Jar

After an hour of frustration and technical issues, I am here! πŸ™‚ This is why technology is NOT my friend.

Let’s get it right out in the open: I am eating dipping whole wheat grain crackers directly into the peanut butter jar. Frustration builds a need for peanut butter.

Another gorgeous day weather-wise! I think we will hit a patio tomorrow at lunch! πŸ™‚

Have you been on a patio enjoying the sunshine yet? What’s your drink of choice? (It doesn’t have to be alcholic)

I wanted something a little different for breakfast so I picked up a cinnamon raisin bagel and coffee at Tim Horton’s.Β  I really love just eating the cinnamon raisin bagel exactly as is: not toasted and with nothing on it. MMMMMMM

I slapped together a lunch this morning before work. I was really craving avocado so I took about 1/4 to a 1/3 of one and mashed it and spread it on a Dempster’s Spinach Wrap. I topped it with yellow sweet peppers and tomatoes. It tasted amazing!! Unfortunately I think it was veggie overload on my belly and had some serious gas. I took some meds and felt much better. But the wrap was sooooooo good!

For dessertΒ I had an AMAZING fruit salad consisting of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. It was so good! I love berries!

I needed an afternoon snack around 3pm so I had a one of the Melissa’s Bar of Love YouBar. These bars will never get old- I love YouBar.

My pre-workout fuel involved two small squares of Lindt 80%Β Dark ChocolateΒ with a small handful of banana chips. It was the first time I tried the Lindt Dark Chocolate and I am quite pleased. It melted in my mouth and it was the perfect combination of sweet and bitter. YUMMY!! Two small squares did the trick!

I was DREADING the gym today! haha Thursday = torture session with my trainer Candice. I seriously was not feeling it at all! However (as I have said so many times) I went and I felt AMAZING! It was a intense workout. Candice was amazing because I was even sweating and I never sweat when doing strength/core training! She was working my lil buttocks! It felt so great.

Total Work-out Stats: 1 Hour Strength/Core Training with Trainer AND 45 minutes on the elliptical

A fuelling was needed after that workout so I had some raw almonds. The almonds were delicious AND nutritious!

I was HUNGRY when I got home and I wanted something different. Tonight called for a veggie omelette with peanut butter/jam toast, green beans, and Yum Yum pickles. To make the omelette I used one whole egg and about 1/3 cup of egg whites with mushrooms, celery, sweet yellow pepper and scallions. I also threw inΒ a splash of milk. It turned out soooooo good! It hit that spot.

voila!

voila!

And last but surely not least I dealt with my craving for something sweet afterward with trail mix. MMMM yes there are chocolate chips in there!

so sweet

Now that I have eaten enough peanut butter to coat my entire belly, I should likely go to bed…..

Challenge I will begin next week: eliminate night time snacking!

Does anyone want to join me on the eliminate night time snacking challenge starting next Monday?

I will come up with a game plan over the weekend. πŸ™‚

  1. Sometimes we just gotta eat PB from the jar! Sorry about the frustrations!

You bowl of fruit looks amazing..as does your dinner!

Great job on your workout! I need to get in the gym for some butt kicking soon.

  2. I considered eating my cinnamon-raisin bagel untoasted once (that’s just because I’m a lazy bum), but I thought it might be too dense. I’ll give it a shot next time. πŸ˜‰

Oh thankyoulawd for another dark chocolate lover. That exact same Lindt bar (85% or something like that?) is sitting in my pantry, waiting for a day when I REALLY need my deliciously bitter chocolate fix.

  3. pb from the jar is so necessary sometimes! and your dark dark chocolate is beautiful. great job at the gym! (your late night snacking challenge sounds awesome. my snacking troubles seem to happen more mid-afternoon…)

  4. Oooh, favourite drink to have on a patio is BEER! Preferably a cold Corona with a lime wedge. Yummm…

I regularly dip my dates straight into the PB jar. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do! πŸ˜‰

I’m actually pretty good at nighttime snacking. I make sure to leave around 200 calories for a snack at night (usually some sort of yogurt-cottage cheese combo). Most nights I’ll have about 5-6 hours between dinner and bedtime though, so I need something to get me through!

  5. Mmm.. that bagel looks delcious! I’m similar with bread – I love it plain, without anything else distracting from the bread-y taste. It’s the best way to enjoy it!

Your strength training/core session sounds like a killer! What kind of stuff do you do with your trainer? In any event, I think you definately deserved lots of extra chocolate chips after that awesome workout!

I’ll join your no-snacking challenge! I always have dessert… and then a “second dessert” (tonight was no exception!) I need to be able to say NO to snacks πŸ™‚

By the way, thanks for all those lovely adjectives you used to describe me in your comment yesterday… I felt very special πŸ™‚

  6. I’d love to join you, but my night snack is my downfall. πŸ™‚ I get one and I think about it all day!
I bet your PB and crackers snack was bombin’! Eating out of the jar is so wonderful πŸ™‚
It’s been super hot here already so I’ve been laying out with lots of water and diet coke! My faves!
    Happy wknd (almost)!

  7. At least you used a cracker and not your finger, which I am known to do!

  8. yep! i have been there before too! love how stressful situations call for drastic measures.. : )

    happy long weekend!

  9. Hey! I just read a few entries down and noticed you said “Bloor”, then had to read your About Me page. Living in Toronto hey?! That’s not too far from me, I’m in Waterloo!

I’m definitely going to add you to my blog roll, if that’s okay! (I’m very enthusiastic about finding new bloggers, obviously lol)

  10. I think pb from the jar solves many of life’s problems :). Now I’m craving trail mix!

  11. yay for trail mix!! i’m loving the look of that stuff!!!
